Privacy and Data Protection Policy

This is a courtesy translation. Equuidi is established in Portugal and the Portuguese version of this document is the binding one; in the event of any discrepancy, the Portuguese text prevails.
1. Who is the data controller
Pipecodes, Lda., a company registered in Portugal with tax identification number 515430617 and registered offices at Edificio NERE, Rua Circular Norte, 7005-841 Évora ("Equuidi", "we"), is the controller of the personal data collected through the equuidi.com website ("Website"), under Regulation (EU) 2016/679 ("GDPR") and Portuguese Law no. 58/2019 of 8 August.
For any question relating to the processing of your personal data, you can contact us at info@equuidi.com.
2. What data we collect and why
We collect the personal data you provide voluntarily when filling in the Registration of Interest form available on the Providers LP, as well as any data you may provide us through direct contact (email or social networks). Specifically:
- Name — to identify the interested party for the purposes of commercial contact. Legal basis: consent (art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).
- Email — to send communications about the presentation of the platform and the launch process. Legal basis: consent (art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).
- Phone (optional) — for a phone call presenting the platform, where provided. Legal basis: consent (art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).
- District — for geographical segmentation of the provider network being built. Legal basis: consent (art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).
- Business category and service type — to qualify the registration of interest and tailor the commercial contact. Legal basis: consent (art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).
We do not collect sensitive personal data (in particular health data, racial or ethnic origin, religious beliefs or sexual orientation) through these forms, nor do we ask for it.
3. How long we keep the data
Data collected through the Registration of Interest is kept until: (i) consent is withdrawn by the data subject; (ii) Equuidi concludes the commercial contact process associated with the launch of the Platform and the data subject does not wish to proceed with creating a profile; or (iii) 24 months elapse from the date of registration with no interaction, whichever comes first. After that period the data is deleted or anonymised, unless another legal basis for keeping it applies.
4. Who we share the data with
The personal data collected is not sold, transferred or shared with third parties for marketing purposes unrelated to Equuidi.
We may use processors who provide technical services on our behalf — in particular hosting, form management and email delivery services — who have access limited to the data strictly necessary to provide those services and who are contractually bound to comply with the GDPR and to process the data according to our instructions.
Where any of these providers is based outside the European Economic Area or processes data outside it, the transfer will be covered by the appropriate safeguards provided for in the GDPR, in particular standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission.
At this stage there is no sharing of data with Providers or Users of the Platform, as it is not yet operational.
5. Cookies and similar technologies
The Website may use technical cookies, essential to its operation, and audience measurement cookies to understand use of the Website in aggregated, anonymous form. Whenever non-essential cookies are used (for example, for statistical analysis or associated with social networks), the visitor's prior consent will be requested, under Law no. 58/2019 and the applicable electronic communications legislation.
Visitors can manage or disable cookies at any time through their browser settings, which may limit some Website functionality.
6. Data security
Equuidi adopts appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against unauthorised access, loss, destruction or improper disclosure, proportionate to the nature of the data processed at this pre-launch stage.
7. What your rights are
Under the GDPR, you have the right to:
- Access — obtain confirmation that your data is being processed and access it.
- Rectification — correct incomplete, inaccurate or out-of-date data.
- Erasure — request the deletion of your data, where applicable.
- Restriction — request the temporary suspension of the processing of your data.
- Objection — object to the processing of your data for commercial contact purposes.
- Portability — receive your data in a structured format and transmit it to another controller.
- Withdraw consent — at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal.
- Complaint — lodge a complaint with the Portuguese Data Protection Authority (CNPD).
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at info@equuidi.com. We will respond to your request within one month at the most; this period may be extended in particularly complex cases, as provided for in the GDPR.
Without prejudice to any other administrative or judicial remedy, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Portuguese Data Protection Authority (CNPD), at www.cnpd.pt, if you consider that the processing of your data breaches the GDPR.
8. Minors
The Website and the Registration of Interest form are intended for people aged 18 and over, in the context of a commercial relationship between Equuidi and equestrian sector service providers. We do not knowingly collect data from minors through these forms.
9. Changes to this policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated to reflect legal or operational changes, or changes in how the Website works, in particular on the transition from pre-launch to operational running of the Platform — which will involve processing new categories of data (Provider profiles, bookings, payments, reviews). The version in force is always the one published on the Website, with the date of the last update shown.
